Be it your regular gum that you use as a mouth freshener or the gummy bears that are a kid’s favorite, neither of them is supposed to be consumed by dogs. If your mutt gulps down a chewing gum, it may lead to a bowel obstruction. Furthermore, the presence of xylitol (a sweetener) in gums makes them especially toxic, and there are chances of liver failure as well. Don’t just hide the sugary stuff from your children, keep it hidden from your dog too.
